Senegal and SatNav Africa JPO have joined hands in an effort to drive space innovation across Africa.
The Senegalese Space Study Agency (ASES) signed a significant agreement with SatNav Africa JPO, aiming to propel Senegal and Africa forward in the realm of satellite navigation and space applications. This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) establishes a framework for collaboration, fostering innovation in space tech across the continent.

The partnership extends beyond the MOU. Following the signing, ASES and SatNav Africa JPO outlined a roadmap packed with initiatives designed to cultivate a thriving space tech ecosystem. These initiatives include educational programs like webinars to equip national maritime, agricultural, and geospatial sectors with the power of satellite navigation (GNSS). Additionally, a program specifically designed to inspire young girls to explore careers in space science and technology is planned. To further solidify Africa’s position in the space industry, the roadmap also includes an international conference dedicated to satellite navigation and a hackathon focused on Earth observation.

This collaborative effort positions Senegal at the forefront of Africa’s burgeoning space industry, paving the way for advancements that benefit the entire continent.
