Vice Adm. J.T. Anderson, commander of the U.S. 6th Fleet, emphasized the strategic importance of this exercise, stating, “Cutlass Express offers an unparalleled opportunity for collaboration with our African allies on maritime security.” He noted that the robust partnerships formed through these collective efforts and the high-caliber training provided enhance regional security and promote economic prosperity, benefitting not just territorial waters but also the broader exclusive economic zones of participating nations.
